MESSAGE
To claim you have fellowship with the light and at the same time with the works of darkness is far from the truth. Jesus is the light and wherever light is, darkness can not exist (John 1:5). Since the World is full of darkness and we are the light of the world, God wants us to constantly walk in the light.
By so doing, our lives will become a shining light for many others to find their way into the light. Nothing is more beautiful than to see believers shine forth the light of Christ in this crooked and perverse generation.
To be able to do this, you must walk in the light of God’s word. Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Psalms 119:105 NKJV
By allowing the shining light of God’s word to lead you, you will be able to stay clear of sin.
How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.
Psalms 119:9, 11 NKJV
How often do you meditate on God’s word? Do you pay attention to obeying all that is written in it? Here is what the Bible says about obeying God’s word:
For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
James 1:23-24 NKJV
Until you begin to do what you have read, it will never produce light to direct your path. If you carefully read Joshua 1:8, you will see that it was not in the meditation on God’s word that Joshua would have good success but in doing what the word of God says.
Beloved, to walk in the light of God’s word is to do what it says, and doing so makes you wise.
REFLECTION
Both understanding and your need to live a successful life is in the word of God, therefore, mediate upon it and obey it.
PRAYER
Father, please help me to take your word with utmost seriousness and to do what it says.
