MESSAGE
In Luke’s gospel, the Bible says in chapter 1:45 “blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord”
When the angel came to Zacharias he did not believe but a young virgin Mary believed and got her blessings. Faith is not subject to age or experience, anybody can have faith. As a matter of fact, everyone is given faith as a measure or token of God’s gift.
The Bible says we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8) I.e. God justifies the sinner when he believes and diligently seeks to know God and so it is very possible for the young to be saved by faith.
Faith is more active and easy for a child but as he continues to grow it becomes more difficult to trust in God. Righteousness is input by faith, not by works. The just shall live by his faith in God (Habakkuk 2:4).
Abram believed in God and God calls him righteous. The promise was fulfilled based on faith.
Note that all your righteousness (self-righteousness) is a filthy rag (Isaiah 64:6). The more reason why faith is the key to accessing the God kind of righteousness.
Every time a sinner admits himself to having violated God’s law and trusts himself to God for mercy, God inputs the righteousness of Jesus to such.
As believers are justified by faith, it is expedient to continue in faith. As we progress in faith there is a progression of righteousness.
Stay focused beloved, to remain in the race you must continue in the faith. He is faithful to bring you to victory all the days of your life.
REFLECTION
To receive the first instalment of God’s righteousness we must believe, and more importantly, we must continue in faith to sustain the righteousness unto glory.
PRAYER
Father, please increase my faith unto righteousness.
