MESSAGE
There is a popular saying that only God knows those who are truly serving Him. This sentiment is usually expressed in an attempt to water down true worship of God. The truth of the matter is that God knows those who are his own.
The Bible says that the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” II Timothy 2:19 NKJV. Because nothing is hid from God, He knows who true worshippers are and He is always willing to reward them as best as possible.
Another person that knows without doubt is the one serving God. Paul said, the Angel of God of whom I am, came and minister to me. This means that a true child of God knows that He is one. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are God’s children (Romans 8:16). It is no mere fable, it is not an empty saying, it is simply the fact that those worshiping God in truth and Spirit know that they are.
One thing is certain, a man who is deceiving himself will know even if no one else does. Likewise the person truthfully serving God, he or she will be a living proof of service to God.
The last person who knows when a person is truly serving God is the devil. Let me tell you, you can fool everybody but you can not fool the devil. The devil knows the true child of God, and he knows those who are not. In our text of the day, Bible showed us that the devil knows those who truly God’s children.
You can not be in between, it’s either you are God’s or you belong to the devil. Do not be religious and not spiritual. The seven sons of Sceva became a casualty – instead of casting out the devil from the possessed man, they were the ones who were casted out.
Are you truly a child of God? Do you possess the life and Characters of Christ? Jesus also said, that true believers will be known not by gift but by their fruits. Are you showing forth the fruit of righteousness or you are living carelessly? You must examine yourself, and know where you stand.
REFLECTION
Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
Mark 1:23-24 NKJV
Everywhere Jesus showed up, the demons flee. They recognize him and screams out of their hiding place. If Jesus lives in you and you are living a life of holiness, definitely you will be known even in Hell.
PRAYER
Father, please make me a carrier of your presence and help to produce the fruit of righteousness at all times.
