MESSAGE
One of the major storms that hit people hard today is the financial storm. I have found this storm one of the most weaponized tools in satan’s toolbox to afflict believers, especially servants of God. Many who faithfully wanted to serve God have found themselves in some very difficult financial storms that have kept them wondering if God cares for them.
One of the first things to observe is that being a true Christian does not exempt you from facing storms. During and post-pandemic, we have seen many families struggle to pay their bills. This does not mean that God has abandoned you, He will come through for you.
The condition of the widow in our reading was already worse before the creditor came poking to take her children to be slaves. They were so poor that they had nothing but a jar of oil. They probably don’t know when the next meals will come from.
Now a bigger financial storm has risen, except there is a divine intervention the family will be destroyed. Today, what you need is divine intervention in that financial hardship. God can step into that situation and bring you abundance amid hardship.
What the widow did is a lesson to us all. Many of us go trying families and friends to bail us out in times of financial tumult instead of crying unto God. She sought the Lord and God never put her to shame. Just as David said, I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.
Psalms 34:4 NKJV
If only you will look to Jesus for help in that your hour financial crisis, He will brighten your face and you will not be ashamed. Just as that woman got abundance, you can be sure that God will turn your lack into surplus.
God is interested in your prosperity and not penury, therefore you can take that loads of financial burden to Him and He will help you.
REFLECTION
Are you in debt and you don’t know how you can ever pay back? Take it to Jesus and ask Him to help you today.
PRAYER
Father, please help me pay my debt. Please lift me out of every financial mess I am currently in today.
