MESSAGE
One of the most profound statements God made about Himself in the Bible is found in Isaiah 55:8-9.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV
Looking at this, we must understand that God’s ways are beyond our human understanding. The hymn writer wrote it this way:
God moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform. He plants His footsteps in the sea
and rides upon the storm. Deep in unsearchable mines, of never-failing skill. He treasures up His bright designs and works His sovereign will…
What this means is that none of us in our feeble frail nature can ever for a certain understand His moves except it is revealed to us. We cannot predict what He will do next, this makes Him supreme overall.
This is why every child of God must never trust in themselves but rather trust in the Lord with all their heart without looking to anything of human understanding. Those who will follow God are not people who will calculate His moves but will move at the sound of His voice. They are men like Moses whom the Bible referred to as knowing the ways of God.
With our God, every way is the way, and most importantly He is the way (John 14:12). Anyone who will not miss his way in life must stick to Jesus the way, the truth, and the Life. By constantly following Christ, God will begin to reveal to us His ways.
Beloved, are you closely following the Lord or you are after His miracles? Men who saw miracles never made it to the promised land, so, miracles are not enough to finish well on this journey, but to be in the league of men who know their God and His ways.
REFLECTION
When you know His way, you will never miss the way.
PRAYER
Father, please show me Your ways so that I can know You.
