MESSAGE
One of the saddest verses of the Bible showing God’s grieving over the sin of man is recorded in Genesis 6:6-7. In the earlier chapter, God had made everything and it was very good (Genesis 1:31).
Man was God’s masterpiece, he was to dominate and be in charge of everything God had made. Man laid down this dominion at the feet of the enemy and became subdued by wickedness.
We were of the seed of that sinful man, and by default were sinful. But we saved and cleansed, and many of us were baptized in the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 6:11).
Having received this grace of God, how have you lived? Have you lived licentiously rather than soberly, righteously, and Godly? (Titus 2:11)
Have you trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? (Hebrews 10:29).
Are you living in secret sin, and grieving the Spirit of Grace? Are you still walking on the narrow path that leads to eternal life or now on the broadway? Are you still conscious about holiness or do you simply live as you want?
Are you are a preacher and have left your first love. Have you run greedily after gain, are you like Demas who loved this present world? (2 Peter 2:15).
Is heaven not regretting over your life? Are you profitable with the gift and talents that God has given you or you have simply merchandise the grace of God upon your life?
Does your life grieve God? The Bible says God wished He had not made man (Genesis 6:7). Would heaven not say the same about your life dear brothers and sisters?
This is a call for self-examination and thoroughly checking. Take a moment to look at your Christian walk and see if you still have the first love you had for Jesus (2 Corinthians 13:5).
Allow the Holy Spirit to search your heart, and where it is needed repent and ask the Lord for a fresh start.
The life of a sinner by default is a grieve to God because he has rejected the cross of Jesus Christ. You can change the course of your journey by repenting and accepting Christ today.
REFLECTION
Don’t forget that the judgment of God hangs upon those who live to displease God. It is best to turn today.
PRAYER
Father, wherever my life has caused you to grieve, please forgive me and give me the grace to walk with you in truth.
